SCHOOL COUNSELING: MINDING YOUR MIND |
On Monday, December 4th, the School Counselors will be hosting a speaker from Minding Your Mind during Community Period in the Performing Arts Center. Minding Your Mind is an organization dedicated to ending stigma and destructive behaviors associated with mental health issues, moving away from a crisis-based response to prevention through education. They use the power of storytelling to provide evidence-based education on mental health challenges to their audiences. Their inspiring programs create safe communication spaces to discuss signs and symptoms often associated with mental health challenges and how to address them. We will have the pleasure of hearing Andrew’s story. Click here to learn more about Andrew and his story.

Fathers and Guardians were out in force this week at MaGerk’s in Fort Washington for a casual Dad’s Night Out. Over 30 GMA dads and guardians stopped by to enjoy a drink and some apps while they socialized. The dads were asked to bring men’s pants to donate to Savage Sisters, at the request of Geoff Beatty P’25. Geoff’s daughter, Calliope Beatty ’25 volunteers at Savage Sisters, a residential facility in South Philadelphia that assists those recovering from substance abuse. |
