This coming Tuesday, November 28, 2023, the Gwynedd Mercy Academy High School Community will celebrate #GivingTuesday – a global day of giving back to nonprofits like Gwynedd who need your support to continue to offer the best programs for your daughters – our students.
Our goal this year is to have at least 100 donors give $25,000. Of course, we hope to exceed those numbers, but we cannot do it without your participation. Please be sure to make your gift of any amount. All donations on Giving Tuesday will directly support the Mercy Fund, our annual fund which benefits each and every one of our 439 students at Gwynedd. |

SPANISH CLUB GETS INTO THE HOLIDAY SPIRIT |
Our Spanish Club celebrated La Navidad in November and will celebrate it again in December. The students enjoyed learning about the traditions of Las Posadas (Mary and Joseph looking for an Inn) which is celebrated in Mexico as well as La Leyenda de Pepita (poinsettia). The students made a "globo" to symbolize their humble gift that they will give to the baby Jesús. The girls also used VR goggles to watch 360 videos of spectacular light displays from Spain, sang villancicos (Christmas Carols) and capped it all off with a game of Loto (Bingo) de Navidad.

SCHOOL COUNSELING: MINDING YOUR MIND |
On Monday, December 4th, the School Counselors will be hosting a speaker from Minding Your Mind during Community Period in the Performing Arts Center. Minding Your Mind is an organization dedicated to ending stigma and destructive behaviors associated with mental health issues, moving away from a crisis-based response to prevention through education. They use the power of storytelling to provide evidence-based education on mental health challenges to their audiences. Their inspiring programs create safe communication spaces to discuss signs and symptoms often associated with mental health challenges and how to address them. We will have the pleasure of hearing Andrew’s story. Click here to learn more about Andrew and his story.
